Jeremy Kappell / Monday, May 6, 2019 / Categories: Weather, Current Weather Forcast Showers return promptly on Tuesday. A round of heavy rain/storms possible late week. We needed today. After a bit of a cool and damp start to the month, it was nice to see the return of sunshine and widespread 70's across the area this afternoon. Unfortunately the warmth won't last. We'll see the arrival of another cool front arriving in the morning on Tuesday bringing with it our next round of showers. The rain will be light and most of it looks to exit by midday with clearing during the afternoon. Temps however will be a good 15 - 20 degrees cooler than what we saw today. The middle fo the week looks to be cool and quiet. However, the approach of a stronger storm, one that has been well advertised by the models, looks to bring up a slug of potentially heavy rainfall late Thursday and into early on Friday. Data suggests we'll see thunderstorms developing along a cold front Friday morning. Rainfall could be generous with this system. Today's run of the GFS is advertising ONE to TWO inches across much of Western New York.
