Weekend weather Improvements locally. Not so much for 145th Run for the Roses...
A slow moving frontal boundary to our south will be bringing the possibility of a few showers into Western and Central New York on Saturday, but overall the pattern will be drier locally. That, however, won't be the case for our friends across the Ohio River Valley where MORE heavy rainfall is expected closer to that front with Flash Flooding possible.
This will negatively impact the 145th running for the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville Saturday evening. If I was a betting man, I would bet on "the mudder"! lol
Finally, high pressure looks to build in for the second half of the weekend for both the Ohio Valley and the Northeast on Sunday as low pressure slides off the Mid-Atlantic Coast. This will bring the entire region some drier conditions for a change and the return of sunshine. Maybe a day late for the KY Derby, but I think everyone will enjoy the break.
So the weekend overall is shaping up pretty nicely in comparison across Western New York with some lingering clouds and maybe a spot shower on Saturday. However, the real benefit kicks in for Cinco de Mayo on Sunday with the return of sunshine area wide and improving temps through the 60's.
The warmth continues into early next week, but pattern doesn't look great after that.
Updating the return of another wet and unsettled patter in tonight's edition of WxLIVEat945! See you there.
