Active Pattern Resumes, Locally Heavy Downpours Expected.
An outbreak of severe weather continues across portions of the Plains tonight where several tornadoes have been reported. The threat will continue overnight as a Moderate Risk has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center across portions of Central and Eastern Oklahoma.
By tomorrow, much of this same region will remain at play for strong to severe thunderstorms and flooding could become a real problem as storms "train" over already soggy grounds.
More than THREE to better than FIVE inches are expected over the next couple of days across portions of Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas.
Locally across Western New York, a shield of rain associated with a warm front looks to lift into the region tonight with rain becoming likely across much of the region. The highest chance of rain will be during the morning hours on Wednesday with the possibility of some drytime during the afternoon.
This will be accompanied by some briefly much milder conditions as temps rise into the 60's area wide Wednesday afternoon. By Wednesday evening, the front will shift south again and could produce some thunderstorms across parts of the region especially into the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes.
The chance of rain looks to diminish on Thursday with cooler air returning. Another wave of low pressure looks to bring the rain back again by Thursday night and into your Firday.
Rainfall totals of between three-quarters of an inch and locally an inch and a half can be expected between now and Friday. While this won't be enough to cause flooing issues here locally, it will certainly help to keep everything nice and green.
