In addition to the Winter Weather Advisory for tonight/early Thursday a Winter Storm Watch has been posted for much of Western and Northern New York for Thursday night through Friday night for the potential of additional heavy snowfall.
As mentioned, we'll get a one-two punch from this system with the primary low passing to our south allowing snow to pick back up Thursday night and on the backside of the storm on Friday.
Depending on exact track, snowfall could be quite heavy and will be accompanied by temps tumbling through the 20's and brisk northwest windsd which look to add lake enhancement and eventually lake effect snow showers/squalls into the mix by late Friday/Friday night.
While there is more uncertainty with the second half of the storm.. model data has come into pretty good agreement since last night with two-day snow totals coming in at around 8 to locally 12 inches. Locally TWO FEET possible eastbound into parts of the Adirondacks, Green and White Mountains! (GFS Below)
Needless to say, it's time to get back into full scale winter weather mode as we'll have our hands full as we head into the weekend.
Lisa and I will be back with a complete update on timing and latest amounts starting at 4:45 this afternoon with PM Drive and of course later during the Big Show at 8:45! See you then!
