Risk of Severe Storms returns for Central US

Another potent upper level low pressure system traveling along those rather active jet stream winds dives out of the Rockies and into the Central US, another round of severe weather is expected to develop over the next few days.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued an Enhanced Risk for severe storms on Wednesday across the Southern Plains on Oklahoma and Texas with a Slight Risk extending into portions of the Central Plains and Middle Mississippi River Valley.

By Thursday the severe threat marches into the Gulf Coast, Dixie and Tennessee River Valleys.

Current thinking keeps the severe risk south of the Great Lakes and Northeaste with a Slight Risk on the Day 4 Outlook extending across the Carolinas and much of the Southeastern US including the Florida Penninsula.

A timeline of the storms can be found via the 18z 3kNAM in the below gallery.

As far as Western New York goes, the expectation at this time is for showers to develop with embedded non-severe thunderstorms on Friday.

Temps will be turn very mild with 70's expected for the end of the week.  Turning cooler going into Easter weekend.
