difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation. Secure or shelter loose objects and holiday
decorations in a safe location prior to the onset of the strong
winds.

A strong low pressure system is expected to develop across the Central US on Tuesday before lifting into the Great Lakes and Northeast on Wednesday.  In addition to bringing the potential of soaking rains, and some backside snow showers, wind will be a major factor with this storm.

The wind will pick up out of the south initially Wednesday during the morning especially across the Southern Tier and into the Finger Lakes where gusts could exceed 45 or 50 mph.

As the cold front sweeps through, winds look to shift to the southwest and west during the late afternoon/evening hours bringing the potential for damaging winds into the Niagara Frontier where gusts exceeding 50 mph appear likely and a few could reach near 60 mph... which is considered damaging and could down some trees and powerlines.

Unfortunately, this event will fall on the big travel day and plans may need to be adjusted to account for timing of this storm.  High profile vehicles will especially be affected.

Lisa and I will back with latest timing and details of this storm in tonight's edition of WxLIVEat845.  See you in then!
