Timing the storm
Precipitation looks to start during the mordning on Sunday as a mixture of sleet and snow before transitioning to freezing rain. Temperatures during the day on Sunday look to warm from the 20's in the morning into the lower 30's for an afternoon high. These temps will allow for most reoadways to remain ice free. However, as temps fall, some issues can be expected by Sunday evening.
How much ice?
Updated Euro showing widespread quarter to as much as a half inch of ice across much of Western New York. Should this verify, then this will be enough to cause some issues on area roadways and even a few power outages possible.
How much snow?
The system looks to end as some light snow and snow showers across parts of the area Sunday night and into Monday. As a coastal low develops off the Mid-Atlantic, by far the heavies snows look to fall into Interior New England where locally a foot will be possible.
We'll be watching as we and will be sure to provide additional updates as the storm gets closer in the blog and on our next edition of WxLIVEat845. See you in then!
