FORECAST: Midweek Showers Give Way to Big Weekend Storms!
A large, cut-off low pressure system continues to spion over the the Eastern US with periodic showers and strokes of thunder. The slow moving system has been doing a good job of keeping lawns green the last couple of days with locally heavy downpours.

This system will continue to spin cycle showers as we go throughout the next 24 hours or so before finally lifting off to the east and north in advance of our nex storm which will come with a threat of severe storms to start the weekend.

Our stagnating upper low will get a push from some stronger jet stream winds funneling through the Western US currently which look to eject out of the Rockies on Thursday.

By Friday afternoon/evening, the stage could be set for another round of rough weather for parts of the Midwest and Great Lakes. The GFS, featured below, shows the main event arriving Friday evening and Friday Night with an explosion of thunderstorms that will be capable of producing damaging winds and hail as well as a few tornadoes.

The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk of severe storms posted for much of the states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana in addition to parts of Illinois and Ohio.

Depending on how variables come together, parts of the region could be upgraded to an "Enhanced Risk" for severe storms which is level 3 out of the 5 scale. From there the system is expected to drop south with additional strong storms possible on Saturday across parts of the Lower Ohio and Middle Mississippi River Valleys.

I'll be watching.
Stay Tuned. Stay Blessed.
