OUTLOOK: Winds of change arriving. Temps plunge before Thanksgiving!
While we have enjoyed a largely calm and unseasonably mild fall so far. This pattern appears to be quickly coming to an end as active cold-season jet stream winds arrive across North America over the next couple weeks.
This will bring a train of systems across the Continental United States with rounds of precipitation and cascading temperatures. Note the European temp anomaly maps for Nov 20th compared to Nov 28th.
Following a period of warmth next week, temps look to fall below freezing for the first time for much of the region by late next weekend. Looking further out, the Euro shows the potential for a deep freeze with widespread 20's for the Great Lakes, Ohio and Tennessee River Valleys by Thanksgiving.
With that being said, it's time to start winterizing your home and vehicles. Winter is coming!
