CURRENT FORECAST

Excessive Rainfall Expected for End of the Week..

A steady stream of Gulf Moisture looks to surge northward along a near-stationary frontal boundary located across the Mississippi and Ohio River Valleys setting up a multi-day heavy rain event that will bring the potential for flooding for many.

The forecasters at NOAA's Weather Prediction Center has issued a SLIGHT RISK for excessive rainfall for Thursday and a MODERATE RISK for excessive rainfall Friday across parts of the Midwest.

The latest Euro shows the set up Thursday through Saturday as an existing frontal boundary focuses precipitation in a fairly narrow corridor in advance of a potent low pressure area that could bring some severe weather to parts of the South and also is expected to bring a blast of heavy snow to parts of the Great Lakes going into the weekend.

As far as rainfall is concerned, it appears that a large swath across the Midwest to Midsouth can expect widespread rainfall on the order of two to four inches with the heaviest precip expected to occur along the Ohio River across Southern IL, IN and OH as well as Northern KY where locally a HALF FOOT of rain may be possible over the two day period from Thursrday through Friday night.

These totals will, without a doubt, lead to drainage issues and potentially small stream and river flooding.

Be prepared and stay tuned.
