Jeremy Kappell / Saturday, January 25, 2025 / Categories: Weather NWS Louisville releases 2024 Annual Weather Summary 2024 was marked by warmer than average conditions with slightly above normal precipitation for most of the region. Snowfall was lacking with Louisville officially only picking up 5.3" on the season. Lexington did a little better at 10.2". Both areas were below seasonal averages of around 12" in Louisville and 14" in Lex. August was the hottest month with several 100 degree readings recorded late in the month with Louisville reaching a blazing 102°F on the 29th. Five times during 2024 tornadoes struck the region with the most significant occuring as an EF2 that struck Hanover and Milton areas on March 14th as well as an EF2 that struck the Utica area east of Prospect on April 2nd.
