FORECAST: Storm Prediction Center Issues LARGE "Enhanced Risk" Over Weekend.
After a relative lull in activity over the last week and a half or so, things looks to heat back up severe weather wise over the weekend. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a VERY LARGE "Enhanced Risk" for severe storms for mucgh of the MS and OH River Valleys for Sunday and Sunday night.

Unlike previous systems, this one will carry seasonally high-levels of low level moisture well north with 60°+ dewpoint temps all the way north through IL, IN and into OH. In association with this moisture, instabililty will also build to higher levels than we've seen with CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy) running in the 1-2K range for from Indianapolis/St. Louis and points to the south. Instability is expected to approach 3K for the Deep South where upper winds won't be quite as favorable.

Here's a look at future precipitation according to the latest run of the Euro forecast model with snow expected across the Northern Plains into the UP of Michigan Saturday night/Sunday. To the south, a seasonally strong low spressure system is expected to travel from Iowa into Southern Ontario/Quebec Sunday and into Monday with multiple rounds of showers and storms expected to develop with severe potential expected with the second round of storms late Sunday and Sunday night that will bring the potential for damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes.

This severe threat shifts to the east on Monday with a 15% risk of severe weather stretching from the Gulf Coast all the way into Southern New England.

This will need to be monitored over the weekend.
Stay tuned, stay informed, stay safe.
