Jeremy Kappell / Thursday, December 5, 2019 / Categories: Weather, Current Weather Forcast Fast moving Clipper arrives with System Snow and some Rain... On the heals of Thursday's lake effect snow showers and squalls, a fast moving clipper system dives in as we head into your Friday with widespread snow expected in the morning. Latest data shifts this system a bit to the north allowing for temps to warm a bit and a transition from just snow in the morning to a rain/snow mix during the afternoon as temps climb to a few degrees above freezing. This will create somewhat melty conditions reducing totals. I think we are still looking at a general 1 to 3 inch snowfall for the lake counties with lesser amounts south and locally higher amounts eastward into Central NY. So this won't be the storm of the century, it will cause some inconveniences out the door on your Friday. As colder air returns a northwesterly flow will promote the development of more lake effect snow showers/squalls Friday night. Accums likely in favored areas downwind of the big lakes. We'll be monitoring. Lisa and I will be back with a full update on the snowy scenario going into the weekend and the latest on next week's arctic surge in tonight's WxLIVEat845.
